Reflection Blog Post

My favorite project during this semester was the drafted video story. The reason being was because through that unit not only did I learn how to use adobe premiere. But I also learned a useful tool that could help me out with the instagram videos i do and post for my channel. However this unit taught me the design process and showed me how to compile multiple clips into one scene. In addition , i’d say this was my favorite unit

Furthermore, some skills I learned during this course I may use in the future were the design process of using photoshop, audition, and premiere pro. More specifically the tools I learned were how to compile audio files into one section and place them into numerical order. In addition, another skill I took on was learning how to make logo designs that i may stretch out in the future for additional communications classes I may take in the future.

Apart from this, the career path I envision for  myself in the future is either a sports agent or a sports advertiser. However, skills from this class that may be influential to my career path is the computer designing process of advertising. Making Ads and logos that are fit and appropriate for the company. In addition, this class can help me apply my skills as I move forward in my minor.

However, One skill that I wish that I had learned was how to use adobe premiere more effectively in terms of how to apply it through media and youtube design. Reason being is because if i were to gain those skills effectively i could apply that same editing process to my own personal needs. In addition, some outside resources i picked from outside the class were how to use adobe premiere pro. I found a few resources from watching youtube videos applying them to my unit such as the transition tools.

Thank you for a good semester!!

Complete Drafted video story

For this project I decided to create an informational video on the history of the recreational center at WSU while also incorporating an interview into the project. In addition, this project relates to my course topic because I discuss issues that are heavily related to my sports management major. Furthermore, I am fully aware that the sports management field requires entertainment upon different sports facilities and event planning so i decided to talk about the history of the Urec. more importantly, I used that to incorporate my interview to my brother devaughn Little where I’d discuss issues around the Urec involving sports entertainment and event planning. In addition, the designs that influenced more was the last tutorial file we completed compiling all of the videos and images into one clip.

Furthermore, some of the research I did when incorporating my design process was getting free legal music through creative commons. With the additional factor of using youtube as a resource to gain a better understanding of the legal music rights. Apart from this, the significance of the elements in my video are the transitions I had put in my video and audio to make the video more appealing. In addition, I also had an audio music file that made the theme of my video more expressive. Furthermore, the design process was hard for me at the start because my files kept deleting because i uploaded my videos to my email so when trying to run them through premiere the files kept erasing .In addition, I began searching for videos on youtube to get a better understanding of the software. More importantly, the video files were composed from my Phone and then sent of to my email as well as the music Audio file that I had gotten from creative commons. However, through premiere I then compiled all my files with a few edits with transitions and text and finally came together with a concluding video

Furthermore, I created the text elements used in project through adobe, however I had gotten my music from the Creative Commons website. In addition, like i said before the video files were compiled from my Iphone. However, some of the tools I had to use to make my video more clean was the razor tool to clip pieces of audio and video to make my storyline better. however, a problem i came across was the change in my border line. i wanted to be aligned to the middle and not so close to the side

Drafted Audio Story:Interview-sports with D’Arion

For this audio story I decided to create an interview based around the knowledge of sports and the information collected around the sports management field. Furthermore, the idea of composing an interview about sports is highly related to my blog because it speaks about facts and opinions on need to know information about athletics and what it takes to be successful as an athletic director and in the sports management field. More importantly, some inspiration I had found was from a video asked by a student on an interview to the athletic director about the ups and downs of event planning and what their everyday job was like. However, I thought that interview was pretty interesting and exciting to know about the everyday life of an athletic director so I decided to conduct my own interview about the potential types of coach you’d like to see at wsu, and how sports management played a role in school development.

In addition, I believe the significance of this interview was the responses given (mainly from the professor). Because in the interview I decided to interview one student who studied in sports management and one professor/coach who had a degree in sports management to make a connection between the student to professor perspective on their opinions about sports and occupations in that field. However, it seemed that professor Crawford had a lot to say in a given amount of time but she had great resource information to speak upon. Apart from this, I emailed professor crawford 2days ahead of my interview and then had a sit down discussion in her office wednesday morning, and the students I interviewed was a childhood friend who had also been majoring in sports management so i asked him in the gym to get a connection in relation to the theme of my blog.

However, when looking back at my recordings i think a minor change in there i may need to fix is the audio behind the first interview with my friend John. I think the audio in the background was used to sound more effective but in terms of this recording i don’t think that was necessary to make the theme of the interview more effective. Also, while looking back into the feedback given from my peers another thing I’d make changes to is in the beginning through the end maybe add in some music. Music that has not been copyrighted could be an effective piece to finalize the touch up on this interview. Furthermore, I do think one key aspect apart of my recordings was the audio brought in from Tammy Crawford because there in the interview I have a first hand source on the information asked.

Moving forward, some tools and techniques I used was the razor cutting tool to clip one of my recordings. In addition, I flipped back and forth between the razor tool and move tool to construct a smooth processing video. In conclusion, the technical challenges faced were trying to cut out each question and each answer to fit specifically where they needed to go.

Raw audio footage

the audio story i plan to tell is a conducted interview from students around the campus who have a passion for sports. however, this is more so related to the idea of sports and how it connects to student development.

Final slime Logo project

During this writing process some of the inspiration found was from inspirational artist nipsey hussle on his Marathon Album signifying that the marathon will always continue. More importantly through the process of this design i’d say the significant part about my design is the enlargement of the letter C abbreviating the word continue and the dash line across the top of the C to let it be known that this a long lasting continuing process.

Apart from this, I’d say the design process was for me was at first a little complicated because honestly i had no intentions on a design and i didnt know how to make the banner. However, the idea of a marathon race stuck to me. The idea that sports will always continue, similar to a marathon race. And then that’s when my drafting got better so i decided to make SP, short for sports replacing the P with a marathon flag to emphasize the message. Moving forward, ways i used the elements on my design were easy, learning from what the illustrator tutorials had taught me on creating flag banners i utilize that skill to create banner. Then, I provided simple text from the fonts and I enlarge the letter C emphasizing the word continued in abbreviation; and lastly I wrapped up the logo using the vector tools to help the lettering to indicate the long lasting process of sports in the sports field.

In addition, based on the feedback received from my peers some changes made to my logo were the color scheme, in effect for reasoning that my logo was too bland and didn’t have enough color. Furthermore, i changed the period at the end to make it a little more smaller so it won’t take effect off logo. As well as making all the fonts the same to make the logo more professional. However, some challenges faced while completing this assignment was trying to get the curve on the banner to shape out as a “p”. Although, that was a small but yet tackling challenge, the skills from the com 210 class has taught me how to use illustrator effectively.
